Learn the first steps it takes to rock climb

This beginning climbing course will give you the knowledge, foundation and confidence to climb safely on rock in the outdoors. Our supportive guides offer an environment that allows beginning rock climbers to get a real feel of climbing in the outdoors. The beginning rock climbing classes are taught at Castle Rock State Park and Pinnacles National Monument.

All classes are taught by trained climbing instructors. The low teacher to student ratio (maximum 1:6) allows for extremely safe and personalized climbing instruction. 

Our minimum class size is 3!  

Items that will be covered are:

· Climbing movement
· Belaying 
· Knots for climbers 
· Climbing commands

Treks and Tracks provides all safety equipment including personal safety devices such as climbing shoes, helmets, harnesses and belay devices.

Take your climbing to new levels with our rock climbing Programs

The Climbing Enthusiast This program is designed to give you the skills and confidence to set up your own top-rope climbs. It includes the Beginning Climbing and Beyond the Basics classes. $189

The Lead Climber As Lead Climber you gain the skills to set up bolted sport climbs from the ground up. Included are Beyond the Basics classes and the Learn to Lead Climbing classes. $219

The Alpine Climber This 4 day intensive program is taught at Pinnacles National Monument over 2 weekends. You will learnhow to place protection, as well as build anchors. The Alpine Climber prepares you to lead multipitch climbs in an alpine setting. $359
