Italy: Dolomite Trekking
The Iron Way in the Heart of the Dolomites!

Trekking in the Dolomites

Via Ferrata means 'Iron Way' in Italian, it refers to a system of cables that are attached to the side of the mountains. These routes would normally be in the domain of rock climbers, but with the help of our expert guide who help us clip into our safety net we climb along ridges and up rock faces, always safe in the knowledge that we are attached to the mountain.

Following trails, originally built for troops during the First World War, we journey from one mountain hut to the next in the Catinaccio range. Each section of Via Ferrata rewards us with stunning views and varies in difficulty and length from day to day. A good level of physical fitness as well as a head for heights is required for this trip.
